WORLDS LARGEST PLUSH SHOW!!

Yippee!!!!! I can finally talk about this killer show that's going to take place in St. Louis this June. I am one of the judges for this show and I am super honored to have been asked to be involved. Here's the low down:
Crammed Organisms is the world's largest plush show!
Nowhere on earth have so many stuffed creatures been collected under a single banner! Asia cowers before the might of
Crammed Organisms, Europe shakes in its boots, South America secretly yearns for such glory, and North America glows
with pride as tons of cotton fill its streets and cloud the sky!
Fairy, Folk, and Fable (the three F's of Crammed Organism's 2008 theme) have been terribly absent from St Louis and
even the world itself! Without stuffed representations of our hopes and dreams we stand no chance of ever achieving
them! How can you possible afford to miss such a thing? What sort of person are you anyway?
Crammed Organisms, is being hosted by multiple independently owned businesses here in St. Louis.

Here's the plush I mentioned I was working on before Hansel. I started it this week and worked on it just about every night to get it done and out of the way. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I not only was inspired by the retro tin robot toys but also circus punks. I love the box too. i alwyas like to add a little something else to my plush. Whether that's a base or plaque or in this case a box. Yes there is a glare on the robots face. It's because I used clear vinyl to encase his face. I was thinking the whole space man helmet look. The box window also has the vinyl. It was pretty easy to sew in to place. I was afraid it would slide but it didn't.
I've been trying to come up with a simple shape that I could do quickly and still embelish it like crazy like I love to do. I was thinking something like this I could do rather quickly and maybe sell on etsy. Of course when I get time. haha!
This is getting mailed off to a magazine publisher for possible publication. It's just for submission, but who knows what may come of it.

OH ME KNICKERS!!

So per the request of my husband, as well as others, here are some close up detail shots of Gretel. These give you a better shot of not only her bloomers but some of the detailing.

GRETEL HAS A BODY

Well I finished Gretel and I can't wait to start Hansel and see them standing side by side. I just noticed that you can't see her bloomers in this picture. But they are there. The next picture I take I'll make sure to get them in there. This isn't the greatest photo. The shadows are a bit harsh. Hopefully it will warm up a bit amd I can get a good picture outside in natural light. I prefer doing that but when it's 27 outside that's not gonna happen for a while.
I have a slight detour before I can start Hansel. I'm working on a quick piece for a magazine submission for possible publication. I may actually have that done tonight or tomorrow, that's my goal anyway.

BODYLESS HEADS

Well here's the pic of Hansel and Gretels heads. I think they are about 9" wide and they are quite heavy. They are stuffed pretty tight. I have paper templates made of the bodies but haven't yet started those. I got side tracked this weekend and decided I needed to start some sketches of pieces I need to have done this summer and fall. I've been procrastinating doing these. I feel better now that I have something scribbled down. I hate thinking that far out but if I don't anxiety will set in. I've got a total of ten pieces I need to have finished by the end of September plus the new baby. I know I'm crazy.
