GET YOUR SNOW CONES HERE!

I had a very productive holiday weekend. I finished up my Snow Cone guys and started working on Halloween costumes. Those pics will come soon.

I made a total of four snow cones. Each have a different glittery colored stand. To make the stands I spray painted them the same color as the glitter. Then I sprayed them with spray glue, poured on the glitter and used a small paint brush to get the glitter into corners. Once the stands were covered I shook off all the loose glitter and then sprayed them with a generous amount of clear coat spray. The clear coat helps keep the glitter from flaking off. I love how they turned out. I used this same technique a few months ago to cover a larger plaque that holds a cuckoo clock for my daughters room. I decided then I'd cover some stands for plush in the future. I thought the glittery stands went well with the snow cones.

The glitter I used is the fine glitter made by Martha Stewart. I believe its only available at Michaels. There must be about 30 different colors to choose from.

RAINBOW SNOW CONES!!

Over the weekend I started thinking about what I wanted to make for the Luv-able & Hug-able show in NY. For this show I usually create smaller pieces. Last year I created the ice cream guys. So I decided to keep with the sweet treats theme and go with snow cones. Rainbow snow cones at that. I don't know if it's been because of the heat or the time of year or what, but making plush ice cream or snow cones sounds good. Of course by the time the show rolls around it'll be cold. Hopefully people will be in the mood for a stuffed snow cone.

I don't think anyone's really created plush snow cones so here's my attempt. I originally had scribbled down tons of different flavors but decided those would be so boring looking and then I remembered that rainbow snow cones exist.

Here's a sneak peak at the progress. I'm thinking these will be on stands painted a bright color and then covered in fine glitter. How cute would that be!

Who remembers this!!!
