VILLAIN & DAMSEL

Here are the doodles for the pieces I'm working on right now. It's my take on the Villain and the damsel in distress. Maybe you're familiar with the b&w silent movies or the many parodies that depict the woman being tied to the train tracks. Well this is them. I did a little research about where these characters originated and apparently it goes back to a silent b&w movie from 1914 called The Perils of Pauline. I can hear the piano music playin' as I'm working.

MORE KEDS FUN

All I can say is that ordering custom designed shoes can be very addictive and very expensive. There are so many ideas and fun patterns I could come up with. Here's my design for some new spring Keds.

STUFFED MAGAZINE

I just got my copy of Stuffed. I am super impressed and love how well designed the magazine is. It's quite large at 135 pages. It feels more like a book than a magazine. Everything is photographed really well and looks great. It turns out I got three pages inside the magazine. Pretty cool!! I hope to be involved in the next one as well. I TOTALLY recommend you check this out. There are about 39 artists work showcased. A big round of applause to the first softies magazine!!

I'M BACK!

So as you could see I took a little break for a while. It was nice to take a creative break after the crazy busy fall I had. I'm intchin' to get started on some projects I've been wanting to do. I did make some curtains for my dining room but those aren't exactly exciting. I do have a piece in the new plush magazine Stuffed: A Gathering of Softies. I hope to show you that soon. My copy is in the mail so I hope to get it in a few days.

I've been meaning to post this bird for a few weeks now. I was inspired by the Dunny's and Munny's. I really love how the they look unpainted. Don't get me wrong I LOVE some of the designs people come up with but there is something really nice about them being all white and not painted. If you're not familiar with these, they are vinyl figures that are completely customizable. Anyway I thought it might be cool if I did a piece completely white. White fabric, stitching, eyes...you get the idea. It's not exactly what I envisioned but he turned out ok. He ended up on top of our christmas tree and looked pretty cool.
