ASSISTANTS HEADS

I finished up the three girls heads and I've started working on the body of the blonde headed girl. I'll shorten the dowel rods a bit and I'll fit them into the torso.

CUTE BABY THINGS

I took a little detour this past week to finish up some baby items for a friends baby shower. I have finished the heads of my Magicians Assistants and hope to start the bodies this weekend.

Everything is so cute and small. The shoes are from Simplicity pattern 2471 and the horse is from Simplicity pattern 2763. The large bib I think came from Martha Stewarts website a few years ago. I made about a dozen of these about 2 1/2 years ago before my daughter was born. The small bib I made by tracing a store bought bib I had had for my daughter. It was great having small ones like that when my daughter was a new born.

I really love how the horse turned out. But it was a pain to sew. The horse isn't very big so  just sewing it together and turning it inside out was a pain. I recommend enlarging this pattern about 10-20%. It would make it a whole lot easier. I did add a rattle and squeaker inside.

I reprints of retro patterns.

THE MAGICIANS ASSISTANT

So I've been trying to decide on what I'll be making for Plush You! LA for a while now. I had lots of doodles and scribbles about magic acts and magicians and finally landed on just doing plush of the magicians assitant. I think these could be really cool. I'm envisioning three plush pieces, the assitant sawed in half, the knife throwing wheel with the assitant and the sword thru the box trick. All of these are going to include the prop that goes with them so I need to get going because half of this project is going to be making the plush and the other half is going to be for making the prop. But if what I see in my head looks half as good as what I can produce I'll be happy. I'm going to start working on the three girls heads right away. I'll probably be making all three at once so they stay consistant. in size.

OWL & THE PUSSYCAT

I finished up the Owl & PussyCat this afternoon. I am very happy with how these guys turned out. I am especially loving how they are kind of leaning into each other. These are going to look GREAT on top of a wedding cake.

Here's a view of the back. The cats tail curled around the birds back was kind of a last minute thought. But it really looks like they are hugging now..
