PLUSH YOU! PICS

So I've been searching Flickr and looking at some of the awesome pics from the show and have come across quite a few pics of my stuff. Miss Sockmonkey over at Flickr was nice enough to let me post these pics she took at the show. Also Cutesypoo on Flickr has some great shots. You should totally check them out! It makes me wish I could have gone and met everyone. Maybe next year!

It is actually being held at three locations, Schmancy, Fancy & Nancy. All my work is featured at Schmancy. If you do make it to the show I'd love to hear from you. Unfortunately I am unable to attend. So if you happen to take pics I'd love to see them or if you just wanna say hey feel free. ENJOY THE SHOW!!

FYI

I've been asked which store my plush will be on display at during the Plush You Show. I should probably give out that information. I will be showing at Schmancy. I will not be able to attend, though I'd love to!!! I hate to miss it. Maybe next year. Check out my stuff and feel free to email me with any questions or comments. I love to hear from fellow plushers!!!!!

GROUP SHOT

So I thought I'd share a group shot I took last week too of all the carney's I've done to date. I've got doodles of the sword swallower and snake charmer that I'd like to do some time. But right now I just bought some yarn to make a stripey scarf for myself. So I think I'm going to work on that this week. I'm kind of slow at the whole knitting thing so it might take a while. I often start and stop. But it will be a nice change of pace.

OFF TO PLUSH YOU

Well here they are. Tagged and and all ready to be shipped. I'm pretty happy with how these all turned out. I took some really good photos of them individually and as a group too. So if they sell and I never see them again at least I'll have a good photo of them. I actually found it pretty hard boxing them up. They've been sitting around for so long I got attached to them. I really fell in love with the twins. I struggled with them for so long and even set them aside thinking I'd move on to something else because I was so frustrated. But wouldn't you know it I gave them a second chance and they turned out great and I like them the most.
So I have doodles for more sideshow freaks but think I might take a little break and do something else. The weather is getting nicer and I can get back outside and tend to my plants. I've been so focused on working on the stuff for Plush You that it's a bit of a downer now that I'm done. I could use some creative rejuvenation.

4 ARMS, 3 LEGS, 2 HEADS, 1 STOMACH!!

I've completed the twins and have been meaning to photograph them but I decided they needed a stand. So needless to say I've been procrastinating doing that till today. Now they stand perfectly and are done. So I'm pleased with the three pieces I've chosen for Plush You and all I need to do now is take some photos, make some tags and box them up real good so I can mail them off. I hope to do that in the next day or two. I'll post a pic of three all together before I box them up.

A DOODLE AND SOME HEADS

Here's a quick doodle I scanned and enlarged of the siamese twins. Also here are some pics of the heads that I finished this weekend. Nothing else to really report. Happy Monday!

FINALLY!!

I've only had this done and sitting on the table for about a week now but have been a little slow in getting a photo of it. His official name is JoJo the Dog Faced Boy. However he doesn't look like a boy or a dog. I really just wanted a bigg furry blob that looks like he's squeezed into his tiny little cage. I think that comes across. Out of all the other circus plush I've done he's definitely the least detailed. His cage actually took the longest to construct. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. So I've just started working on the siamese twins and hope to have them done in time for PlushYou. So far all I have done is one head. Maybe I'll post my progress this weekend.

JOJO

For the most part I've finished the cart for JoJo the Circus Boy. I have a little bit of painting and touching up to do. I have to put this aside for the time being because I have another project I need to get done first because it's due in early August. For the last five years I've created a piece of art work for an art auction here that benefits our local Humane Society. The event is called Art Unleashed and it draws tons of local artists every year. All the work has to be animal themed of course. This is a great cause and I love to contribute. The event its self is fun too. It starts with food provided by local restaurants which is followed by a silent auction then a live auction. My plan is to get my piece done before I go on vacation in July. Where do you ask am I going? Ah.... San Diego for the big Comic Con. More about that later.

STRONG MAN STAND

Strong Man now has a proper stand and is officially finished. The second pic is of the poster behind Strong Man. I know you can't see this when he's on the stand, it's just a little added bonus.

TATTOED MAN

I finally finished him! So instead of moving on to the next sideshow plush I'm working on the Strong Man again. I'm not actually reworking him but I'm creating a stand for him. The stand will allow him to stand in front of a poster of him with his name, painted like a circus poster. Hopefully it will turn out the way I have it pictured in my head.

BEARDED FAT LADY

Well I finally got her done. I've been meaning to post a pic for a couple of days now but it's been so cold and cloudy here that I couldn't get a good pic. I prefer getting a shot outside because the light is so much better. I'm debating on who I want to do next, JoJo the Circus boy or the Tatooed Man. I have a commission I have to do a first so it may be a little while before I get to it, but that gives me time to work it out in my head. HAPPY MONDAY!

CHECK OUT MY PECS

So I started doing sketches of the next series of plush I wanted to do. I like to do things in groups. However this sometimes leads to boredom and I move on. Perfect example are the devils I started and only finished three. You can see those at my website. Anyway, I have this weird fascination with all things sideshow circus. I like creepy odd stuff. The creepier the better. This tends to throw people off when they meet me. I'm a pretty quiet person who you wouldn't expect to have this side. For the longest time I said I was going to do a series of plush based on characters and oddities from the sideshow. So I decided to start with the Strong Man. I'll keep you posted on what other freaks I intend to do.
